In their only meeting of the season, the Endicott College men’s volleyball team (9-2)  pleased the Gull faithful with a 3-0 victory over Emmanuel College (4-8).

It was a freshman who took command at MacDonald Gymnasium, as Ian Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.) delivered with nine kills, three digs, and two blocks.

Just eight matches into his collegiate career, Smith’s impact isn’t being understated. He’s already reached 50 kills, and is averaging 2.78 kills per set.

Per usual for the Gulls, senior Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) was on his game once again. He portrayed his versatility on the hardwood with six kills, six digs, and a block assist.

Fresh off his position change, junior Justin Kegebein continues to relish his role as a libero. He went 16-for-16 on serve-receive, certainly increasing his percentages on the team’s statistics page.

Overall, the final scores read 25-14, 25-10, 25-19 in favor of the Blue and Green. The Gulls’ hitting % stood at a solid .324, and the group cashed in with 14 aces.

Endicott has now been victorious in seven consecutive matches, and are undefeated at home. This Saturday, the group travels to face Lesley (0-3) at 4:30 p.m.
