The Endicott College women’s basketball team traveled to Salve Regina on Tuesday night and defeated the Seahawks by a score of 70-54. This CCC matchup advanced Endicott’s record to 2-1 in their conference, and 4-4 overall.
Endicott started out strong, doubling up Salve early in the first quarter and holding that lead throughout the remainder of the game.
Emily Pratt racked up seven points and two defensive rebounds in the quarter alone to help with the rolling momentum of the Endicott defense and offense.
In the second quarter, the Blue and Green continued to be a dominating force over the Seahawks. Half of the twenty points scored in this half came from Shannon Gilbert, draining two three-pointers and four field goals.
After halftime, Endicott was determined to continue their pace and finish the game with a win. Kaleigh Putnam put up eight points in the quarter to bring her total to twenty points.
For the Gulls, the fourth quarter was their downfall. They only scored six points and allowed nineteen from their opponent.
Even though they came up short in the fourth quarter, the Gulls still came out on top against Salve Regina. The team will travel to Connecticut College this Sunday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. to continue their series on the road.
