Women's Volleyball

The Endicott Women’s volleyball team traveled to Wheaton College on Thursday night and defeated the Lyons by a score of 3-1.

The Gulls came out strong, winning the first set of the match. The score was close throughout, but the Blue and Green held on to the leading point, running away with three consecutive points at the end to win 25-18.

Their momentum continued into the second set, doubling up Wheaton 14-7 mid-way through. However, Wheaton fought back and took control of the pace of the game. The Lyons were getting kill after kill in this battle, and ultimately came out on top over the Gulls, tying the match.

Determined to take back the lead, Endicott went on a 5-0 run in the beginning of the third set, showing their resilience to overcome the second set loss. 

Senior Remi Quesnelle executed some impressive aces and kills, most prominently in the beginning of the third set to lead the team to victory.

The Blue and Green stayed on top with a coordinated team effort. They won the third set over Wheaton with a score of 25-21.

Going into the fourth, and ultimately final set of the game, Endicott was prepared to secure their win over the Lyons. It was an impressive team effort by both sides, but Endicott had the ability and strength to persist in keeping the lead.. They once again proved their dominance and defeated Wheaton College 25-19, ending the match with a 3-1 win. 

Senior Zoey Gifford, the setter for the Gulls, ended the game with an awe-inspiring 40 assists, giving her yet another double-double in the regular season.

The Endicott women’s volleyball team will be on the road once again to face Amherst College on Saturday, September 21st at 1:00 P.M. They will then face off against Colby College later in the day at 3:00 P.M.
