I am Eleanor and I am a Junior here at Endicott College and News Editor of the Endicott Observer. I am studying here for a year on a study abroad programme from the University of Birmingham in the UK. I am very excited to be in the US and be working with the Observer alongside my studies!

A little bit about me; I thoroughly enjoy writing and I have written from a young age. I also love to travel, which is exactly why I wanted to come to the US for a year and get to experience living in a new place. I am a History Major, and so I am very interested in social and cultural history, especially American History. Whilst I am a News Editor, I will also be writing many features; I am very keen to be a voice for the students here at Endicott, which is an aspect of the Observer that I feel is really important.

However, as my role is News Editor, my top priority is making sure that students are informed. The past year and a half have seen huge political and social debates spark across the media and the circulation of news has been really important; especially in giving young people the means in which to enter such debates, correctly informed. This kind of atmosphere I think should be re-created on campus, and therefore the News Section this year, I hope can give students the information they’re looking for on various topics. Suggestions about topics, on and off campus will be very welcome, if there is anything students would like to learn more about. For any inquiries, ideas, interest in joining the team, or questions about the News Section of the Endicott Observer, please contact me: emcdonnell1@mail.endicott.edu.
