Endicott Men’s Ice Hockey team came out on top over nationally ranked Curry College by a score of 2-1 on Friday night.

Both teams came out strong off the bat, but Curry scored early into the first period, upping the Gulls 1- 0. After no further scoring action in the period, Endicott was prepared to come back in the second.

One minute into the second period, fans watched as the Gulls advanced down the ice and set themselves into scoring position.

James Winkler, ‘20,  got the puck into the zone, passed it off to his teammate, and cut to the net to dump the puck in and score.

Later into the third period, the Gulls were looking to break the tie. About five minutes in, Svet Kuchynski, ‘23, went in for the go-ahead goal but it was blocked.

However, Luke Rodgers, ‘20,  was in perfect position to rebound the puck and shoot it into the goal, bringing the score to 2-1. With this play, Kuchynski grabbed his first assist and point of his collegiate career.

The Gulls’ victory over Curry brings their season to 2-0. They will travel to face off against Curry again on Saturday, November 9th at 2:50 p.m.
